Knoxville Regional ITS Architecture

The Knoxville Regional ITS Architecture update was led by the Knoxville Regional Transportation Planning Organization (TPO) in coordination with the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA).  The geographic boundaries of the architecture incorporate the TPO planning area and include all of Anderson, Blount, Knox, Loudon, and Sevier Counties.

A total of three workshops were held to update the Knoxville Regional ITS Architecture.  Stakeholders included representatives from traffic, transit, emergency management, and public safety agencies at the local, state, and federal levels.

In addition to the Knoxville Regional ITS Architecture Update, a concurrent effort was also conducted by the Knoxville Regional TPO to develop an ITS Master Plan for the Sevier County Tourist Corridor.
