CVO ATIS Truckstop Kiosks

Status:

Planned

Description:

These kiosks represent a general traveler information capability that could be provided at truckstops throughout the state. One specific implementation of this type of system has been proposed in District 8. In this implementation FM subcarrier will be used to disseminate real-time information to commercial vehicles from the District 8 TMC. Kiosks located at four truckstops in the region will provide route and real-time traffic information. Among other interested parties and stakeholders for implementation of this type of system are the I-5 Consortium Cities Joint Powers Authority (Santa Fe Springs, La Mirada, Downey, Buena Park, Commerce, and Norwalk) and the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach.
